The products of other cultures must not take the place of the fresh and healthy ones

The Mediterranean diet and the fresh products were the families’ alimentation base some years ago. The life rhythm, the missing time and the familiar economy make several changes on the eating habits. These changes have been introduced slowly in our diets, and these produce serious problems of public healthy.

When I was a child, my grandmother –who used to cook everyday- used to send me to buy fresh products in different shops in my town. Now, the families have not enough time for doing this and they use to go, once a week, to big supermarkets where the products are not fresh and where exist a big and attractive offer about prepared dishes. Of course, this pair of situations has negative effects on the healthy such as obesity and cholesterol.

On the other hand, in the last years, the typical products of other cultures (on account of globalization) had entered in our market with big consuming success. Ketchup, pizza or kekabs are only some of the examples of the new dishes, which we can buy in the shops. The influence of other cultures is not negative, but so is that these products take the place of fresh and healthy products that are basic in our diets: fruits, vegetables, legumes, etc.

About this subject I think that we mustn’t close to the other cultures influences, because this is another kind of learning but we must try to continue consuming healthy products which are very important for our health.
